- When and where are team practices?
- Immediately after the teams are formed each manager will notify you of the first pre-season practice date, time and place, as well as all subsequent practices until the season begins. Once the season begins practice times and venues can change.
- How long does the regular season last?
- LCB's Spring season begins on Opening Day, which for
Spring '09 is Saturday, February 28. Depending on the age-level league, regular season games will end
in the first week of May. Each team will play between 16 and 18 regular season games. This can vary depending on how many teams are formed in each league and schedule balancing.
Challenger Division will play fewer games.
- What happens after the regular season ends?
- After the regular season end there's still a lot of baseball to be played. Shortly after the last regular season game, LCB's own tournament begins. This is a double-elimination tournament for each age-level league
(except Tee Ball), and champions and runners-up are awarded trophies and medals. After that there are numerous opportunities for area tournaments such as Tournament of Champions (TOC), All-Stars and competitive tournaments.
Tee Ball and Challenger Division's seasons end at the
conclusion of the regular season games.
- Do we play Spring Break?
- LCB does not schedule regular season games during Spring Break to allow families to spend that time together. Please be aware that Tee
Ball through Minor League DO have games scheduled the
Saturday of the weekend before the Spring Break week, and,
with the exception of Tee Ball, those could be division games that count towards the season standings. Please plan on having your players at those games.
- What are the game time limits?
- LCB local rule dictate that Tee Ball games are six innings or 1 hour 15 minutes in length, whichever comes first. Training League and Minor League are six innings or minimum of 20 minutes prior to the start of the following game or practice (usually 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes in length). Major League games will have no new inning start after 9 PM and Junior League will have no new inning start after 9:30 PM. Little League national curfews are later than LCB's local regulations. At his or her discretion, the umpire will end the game based on the league's guidelines.
Challenger Division game lengths can vary.
