- What is a "try-out"?
- Try-outs are sessions where players have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills at fielding, throwing, receiving a thrown ball at first base and batting. Managers attend try-outs to observe and make notes on each player to assist them in deciding who they would like to draft on their team.
- Who must try-out?
- Only players participating in Minor League and higher are required to try-out. Players in
Tee Ball, Training League and Challenger Division are NOT required to try-out.
- When and where are the try-outs?
- Try-outs are typically scheduled on a Saturday in
mid-January at both Peterson and Lake Bonny parks. You
will be notified by mail and/or at registration of the
try-out date, place and time.
- What if my child is unable to attend the try-out? Will he/she still be permitted to play?
- Yes, every child who wishes to play will play
regardless of whether they attended the try-out or not, assuming there is space available. Players unable to participate in the try-out have their names randomly drawn from a hat at the end of the draft meeting and are placed on the next team needing a player.
