Safety & Insurance
The safety of your child is of primary importance to Lakeland City Baseball. We have many tools and resources to ensure we properly design and run our program with the health and safety of our players in mind.
All adults who will have more than incidental contact with players are required to complete and submit a volunteer application and undergo two background checks on a yearly basis. Each applicant goes through a national criminal background search which includes checking against sexual offender lists in every state that provides them, and a background check through the Polk County Sheriff's office.
Lakeland City Baseball Leagues, Inc.'s insurance coverage is a secondary accident and illness insurance policy which covers all registered players, managers, coaches, and other volunteers and umpires. It is designed to afford protection to all participants at the most economical cost to the local league. The policy is an excess coverage, accident and illness-only plan to be used as a supplement to other insurance carried under a family policy or insurance provided by the parent’s employer. If there is no primary coverage, LCB's insurance will provide benefits for eligible charges, up to usual and customary allowances for the area, after a deductible per claim, up to the maximum stated benefits.
