Registration Frequently Asked Questions

Lakeland City Baseball Player Registration

Frequently Asked Question

  1. How do I signup?

You can signup your child by going to

  2. What Division will my child be placed in?

Players are assigned to a division by date of birth.  A chart displaying your child’s “League Age” is listed on our website under the League Rules Tab.

  3. Is Lakeland City Baseball a coed league?

Yes! While we do play baseball exclusively, girls are welcome to sign up.

  4. Where will games be played?

Games for T-Ball through Major Leagues (ages 3-12) will be played at Peterson Park.  Games for our Junior Division will be played at Fletcher Park (aka Lake Bonny).  Games for our Junior Division may also be played versus other leagues in the area (S. Lakeland, Highland City, Mulberry, etc.)

  5. When will games/practices be held.

Practices will begin on 1/23.  Days and Times will depend on the slots assigned to your manager and will not be known until mid-January.  Game schedules won’t be set until we know the exact number of teams in each age division.  Based upon our previous seasons, we expect each age division to utilize the following format, but know this format could change substantially based upon registrations:

T-Ball: 1 game on Monday or Tuesday at 5:30 and 1 game on Saturday

Coach Pitch: 1 game on Thursday or Friday at 5:30 and 1 game on Saturday

Training League: 1 game on Thursday or Friday at 5:30 and 1 game on Saturday

Minor League: 1 game on Monday or Tuesday at 5:30 or 7 and 1 game on Saturday

Major League: 1 game on Monday or Tuesday at 7:30 and 1 game on Thursday or Friday at 7:30.

Junior League: 2 games per week at 6:15. Games could be on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

  6. Who will be our team’s Manager?

Expect to hear from your Team Manager on or around 1/22/2021.  If you are interested in Managing (or serving as a volunteer in general), you can indicate that during the player registration process, or on our website under the Registration tab and then go to the Volunteers section.

  7. What effect will Covid-19 have on our season?

Our League, in conjunction with the City of Lakeland Safety Officer, has developed guidelines for play to foster a safe environment.  We will continue to monitor and update this plan as needed.  It can be found on our home page.

  8. Can I sponsor my child’s team?

Our League is appreciative of every sponsorship we receive.  You can sponsor a team by going to our website and visiting the Sponsors tab.

  9. Can I request a specific manager?

We do our best to honor requests for specific Managers in the T-Ball and Coach Pitch Leagues.  Those requests can be entered in the comments section during registration.  With players in Training league through Juniors, our teams are assembled by a draft and we are unable to accommodate any requests.

  10. What equipment will my child need to play?

The league will provide a hat, shirt, socks and belt.  Players should be prepared with their own baseball glove, bat (USA Baseball approved bats), baseball pants (ask manager about color), and shoes/cleats.
