LCB Buddy Ball

Lakeland City Baseball's LCB Buddy BallĀ® League is for boys and girls with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, ages 5 and up. Our purpose is for these players to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide. LCB is proud to be involved in this important outreach to our community and is pleased in the growth this program has enjoyed over the years. LCB Buddy Ball is headed by Coach Daryl Johnson who has managed and coached baseball for LCB for many years. His experience in youth sports makes him well-qualified to head this program. Each LCB Buddy Ball player is accompanied by a buddy, who can be a parent, sibling, friend or just someone wanting to help the players have fun and enjoy the game. Each LCB Buddy provides assistance as needed, for example, a player in a wheelchair may need a push around the bases, or a child with developmental delays may need assistance with batting or throwing; others may need help catching or simply finding the bases. LCB has players with a wide variety of special needs, therefore LCB Buddies are very important, providing encouragement to help LCB Buddy Ball players achieve their goals of having fun and participating in an organized game of baseball. Being an LCB Buddy is also a great way to get community service hours and put a smile on someone's face while doing it.  Please take a moment to watch the following video on LCB Buddy Ball:  https://youtu.be/ViYb4K3adsI
